One Hundred!

Today I broke 100 miles in my running. I started again in January so it is not the amount of miles that will get me into a marathon today, but it will come October. Today was a hell day meaning that it was speed work. Which the last two weeks as been pyramids, the last time I did speed work (prior to Rachel assigning it weekly since mid-Jan) was in high school! I was a sprinter, once around the track was a killer for me so this 53 minute workout leaves me drained tomorrow. I have spent too much time on my treadmill and plan on my Friday run being outside come hell or high water (don't have to worry about that one as we are having a drought). The treadmill is good for speed workouts but much more than that is cruel! How people can train for marathons solely on treadmills is beyond me, but more power to them.

Next weekend we will be going to Seattle for a medical conference and I am looking forward to getting in some runs while there. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and not be too cold and rainy, then again, I will happily run in the rain!

Homecoming

As you can see homecoming has officially come and gone. Looking at the pictures I don't remember being this young in high school. It was a great night and all the princesses and prince's looked wonderful.

Mom & Dad were allowed to spend a little time with the "princess" before the dance started. In fact I was sent home with the flowers! I do believe they ended up down in Chelsa's room instead of somewhere I could enjoy them.

This is the beautiful scene outside our window. We need the water so much but I have to say that I am not enjoying having to run on the treadmill more. Looking forward to another two or three days of snow showers then Wednesday some partly cloudy - maybe that will be the outside run day! Maybe I should just buck up and get some warmer clothes!

Snow!

We finally got the long awaited and much needed snow. Sadly the storm that was supposed to envelop us for days did not materialize. We ended up with about 8 inches up at our house, with less on the valley floor. I did however have a daughter who was thrilled with the snow as it meant sledding!

We got a few good runs in down out driveway, then today turned out to be overcast but warm, so bye-bye snow. Tonight we should be getting a storm but as of now we just have the wind, no rain, no snow, no sleet, and sadly no more sledding.
